Artists who influenced Jean Lemaire![]() | Lemaire was born near Paris, and in 1613 went to Rome, where he worked in the studio of Nicolas Poussin. By 1637 he had returned to France, where he was appointed a royal painter and had a studio in the Palais du Tuilleries.
