Artists who influenced George Forster | Known for lush still lifes, full of the sense of texture from smooth to rough, he placed fruit in natural settings with animals and plants. He was born in Bavaria, Germany, and emigrated to New York in 1865 with his wife and seven children. By 1870, he was exhibiting paintings at the National Academy of Design and at the Boston Athenaeum.
