Nicaraguan painter and printmaker. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, Managua, from 1941 to 1945 and from 1948 to 1953 and at the Pratt Graphic Art Center, New York, from 1960 to 1964. He exhibited extensively internationally from 1953 and in 1957 made his first visit to New York on a Guggenheim Fellowship.
