Artists who influenced Wang E![]() | Chinese painter. He first studied painting in Fenghua from a minor master called Xiao Feng. At court he served in the imperial workshop known as the Renzhi dian and was much favoured by the Hongzhi emperor (reg 1488-1505), who, as an admirer of Ma Yuan (see MA, (1)), hailed Wang E as 'the Ma Yuan of our time'.
